We are doing a Valentine themed activity every day until Valentine’s day. February 1st we put up and decorated our Valentine tree. February 2nd I made an easy bread machine sticky bun recipe, added 6 drops of red food coloring and enjoyed Valentine sticky buns–Yum!
They were the color of cotton candy. I looked for a similar recipe online and didn’t find one, but adding the food coloring to any recipe should work. I also thought about making cinnamon rolls and just making the frosting pink. I just love to make things festive!

those sticky buns look divine! nice and gooey!
What a neat idea! Do you color them green for St. Patricks’? 😉
Oh goodness, delicious!
If you have a good recipe for sticky buns ( I don’t have a bread machine:) I would love to know it! I am a huge fan but also hugely untalented sadly!:)
Have a lovely Saturday! Hugs from Norway!
Goodness, my girls (especially Ainsley) would LOVE these!
~Thank you so much for what you wrote on my blog yesterday Esther. Please know that you will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
I’ve made that same bread machine recipe before – so yummy! Mine just didn’t turn out pink, lol. Maybe I’ll try that. Or hey, we could do green ones for st. patrick’s day next month…
Ha ha! I have totally thought about playing with green for St. Patrick’s day. With a last name like “Irish” we gotta go all out for “Irish Day” too!
Yummy! What a great idea! I bet your children thought they were heavenly!
Those look really good! What a fun gal you are. I never would have thought of doing something like that.
I have a new challenge going on if you are up for it. Here is the link: http://lynishiskid.blogspot.com/2011/01/day-in-our-life-blog-hop-woman-of-noble.html
Have a happy Valentine’s day! =)

How fun! Your kids must LOVE how cool you make events & holidays!
These look delicious! After reading all your sweet valentines posts, I feel embarrassed that you read my post about abolishing Valentines Day. You are such a lovely person to have commented. I just pray God’s blessings on you!
I love that you added pink food coloring. This is so simple and yet so creative! It also looks very yummy, lol! Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday!
