There has been much progress on my pre-delivery to-do list. Thank you so much for all your encouragement.
Jason was home one day and we didn’t have anywhere we needed to be so I asked if he would help me get things ready. We worked the entire day. I think this is called “nesting.” I’m still amazed at the list of things we got done:
1. Picked up the garage and went through all the piles of stuff.
2. Found all my baby clothes and blankets.
3. Went through and sorted all my baby boy clothes into size appropriate bins and got rid of things I won’t need.
4. Straightened and put things away in my closet.
5. Cleared out all the junk that had piled up in our bedroom and put it away.
6. Sorted through all of the stuff in Little Jason’s closet.
7. Went through my pantry and re-organized.
8. Fixed a place for the baby in our room.
9. Took a car load of things to the Good will.
Well I felt great at the end of the day, that is until I woke up to go to the bathroom that night. I could not walk. I was so sore! It felt like I had run five miles and lifted weights having not done so in a year. I know what it will feel like when I’m old! The whole next day I was in pain. It’s a wonder I didn’t go into labor!
This week a friend offered to come and help me clean. Poor thing had no idea I was going to have her sweep and mop all my floors, but she was a trooper. It was something that in this condition I just would not have been able to do. While she worked, I cleaned my kitchen counters that all needed a good scrubbing. We got a lot done.
Finally, Vanessa, a local blogger contacted me and asked if I had purchased a car seat yet. I hadn’t so she offered me hers! We met for breakfast. She kept me fascinated with stories from her life, and I came home with an awesome car seat!
Oh and I did actually buy a box of diapers! I feel so much more prepared and relaxed about things now. I thank the Lord for His provision!

Yes, that is definitely nesting. How cool that you got so much done! And look at your sweet little pooch. I’m praying that your delivery will go well.
Wow! I’m impressed. Glad you were able to get so much accomplished. It’s such a great feeling to be prepared instead of winging it!
whoa…I guess you overdid it! And I’m surprised you didn’t go into labor too!
I LOVE YOUR BELLY! I think pregnant women are the most beautiful thing ever! Yay for your husband, Vanessa, and your friend that mopped your floors. Sounds like you’re being really loved on and blessed right now. =)
Congrats! He/she will be here before you know it!
You certainly did a lot in one day! I would be sore too! I’m so excited for you and this new little one! Take good care!
I cannot believe your pregnancy is almost over! It seems like yesterday you announced you were expecting. If I don’t get a chance to stop by your blog again before you deliver I wish you well and a safe and easy labor! I bet the kids are very excited about this little one! Good luck and take care Esther!
theres something comforting about clearing off a huge to-do list, and now that the nesting has hit you, i bet you’ll find yourself doing even more! 🙂 praying for a safe and healthy delivery for you! can’t believe its almost time!
Towards the end I always got real active, but not so much any other time. All I wanted to do was sleep when I was expecting.
I wish I had a little of that nesting energy now! Yesterday, my oldest son and wife came over – they are due New Years Eve (My littlest one says, “I’m too young to be an uncle. Uncles are old.” LOL (He’s 11) – She’s having a baby girl! We’re so excited over here.
I’m excited for you, too. Those are the best of times:)
Wow, you got more done than in one day than some of us get done in twice that time! Feels great, doesn’t it?
Best wishes that everything should go well – happy and healthy mother and baby.
That’s cool! My goodness you got alot done. This baby is coming into a prepared household and they don’t even know it. What’s your actual due date? Maybe I should dig through recent posts to find out :).
Wow, girl! You got a lot done! I, too, am surprised you didn’t go into labor, lol! It’s always nice to have someone help with the load and do what needs to be done. Two people work faster than one! Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday.
Glad to hear you got so much from your list done; I know how strong that nesting instinct is! Try to take it easy, now, lol, although I know it is hard!
I originally stopped by to tell you that I’m giving you and your awesome blog a little award; then I found myself reading post after post – which is whey you deserve it! You can find it here: http://theresjustonemommy.com/?p=1741
