We celebrated the coming of fall with a family orange meal. Yes that’s right, a meal of all orange food. You see before I became travel mom, I was holiday mom. Way back then I didn’t have the resources to get out of the house much so I always looked for fun things to do at home. The girls were reminiscing our themed meals, and I realized the boys didn’t even remember them.
We used to do a green meal for St. Patrick’s Day every year which led to occasional color themed meals for other holidays, yellow for spring, and pink, purple, and red for Valentine’s Day. “That was so much fun!” They all agreed! “Well then, why don’t we do an orange meal for fall?” I suggested and our Hello Fall Orange Meal was born. We all gave ideas for food and drinks and then finally agreed to the menu. As you can see I went oh so simple! Who ever said fun has to be difficult?
The Orange Menu:
- Tyson Buffalo Style Boneless Chicken Wyngs
- Cheese Puffs
- Cantaloupe
- Orange Jello with fruit
- Orange Punch
- Orange Poke Cake
The family all donned their best fall colored shirts and came running for supper. I loved seeing them so excited.
We even had orange sauces. Ha! 🙂 Franks RedHot of course, and I have a spicy Boars Head Chipotle sauce that is also orange.
What other foods would you add? We also thought of carrots, cheese squares, and clementines as possible choices.
How do you celebrate fall?

I love this idea 🙂 We love fall here too. For us, pumpkin is always a fall treat and it is orange! Apples are something else we love in the fall, but well they are not orange haha.
Happy fall!
