It was my daughter Faith’s idea to have a pink, red, and purple colored theme for our Valentine’s Day lunch last year. I usually spend most of the day cooking our supper, but still try to do something special for lunch. This was fun and festive, but only took a few minutes to throw together. I made open faced peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and purchased the berry applesauce, blue berries (which I think look purple), cookies, and grape soda.
I am finally feeling more energetic this week and am looking forward to preparing for and spending Valentine’s Day with the family!

Esther, you are such a good mom. Always looking for ways to make your kids happy and to do special things with them.
This one looks easy enough that i just might try it. I’m just not as ambitious as you, esther! but think of what great memories you are making for your kiddos.. years from now, they are going to remember the fun they had with holiday and special occasion dinners and foods. 🙂
I may just have to try something like this now. It may be a little harder packing it in Annabelle’s lunch box though.
What a great idea, and I’m glad you’re feeling well! 🙂
I so love your posts. Hey, I can see surprising anyone with this fun lunch. I passed your heart-shaped rolls idea to The Blog Entourage. You are so creative.
I Love the great ideas you have to make each holiday special for your family. You are my Mama Idol 🙂 Those frosted animal crackers are my fave cookies ever!
One of your daughters is making a love sign with her arms. Cute!
I love the idea of a color themed lunch for a special day. I have 4 girls so it would be fun to have them each pick a color and put together a rainbow of goodies!
