So for the third time this week my six-year-old daughter Joy has, out of the blue, said, “Mom, I don’t think you’re old.”
This time I stopped what I was doing and asked, “Now why do you say that?”
“Because you don’t look old.”
“The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”ย ๐

Your daughter is right — you do have a youthful appearance. I bet you get asked for your ID alot! Savor those moments. ๐
I thought you were A LOT younger than you are! In fact, when I first came to your blog, I thought “how could she have all those children?” I thought you were way too young! I think too, children don’t want their parents to be “old’.
You are raising a sweet, and loving daughter. She is saying this because she loves you. Blessings to you and your beautiful family!
You look fantastic, as a fellow 39 year old, I know ๐
My four year old things I am 22 however, because somehow, 22 is her magic age of all things fantastic.
No doubt, you do not smoke, drink, or sunbathe. Plus, I bet you’re generally a very happy person. That’s why you’re so youthful. Enjoy it, my dear. I will soon be 49 and although people tell me all the time how young I look, that horrible looking glass in my bathroom screams something entirely different. I would break it, but am afraid I’d have 7-years of bad luck. LOL. God bless!
To Cathy: Me too, everything you said, except I’m a lot older than you are. I’m not really worried about the bad luck, but neither do I want glass all over the bathroom. And who knows when we would get around to replacing the mirror. And without it to comb my hair by and such, I’d no doubt look worse. Oh, well…
My 12 year old daughter knows that I am 41 but she is kind enough to always say that I am 28 ๐
