What will my baby look like?

I have enjoyed the frequent sonograms and getting to see my baby so often.  At my last sonogram before our planned day to induce, the usual technician was gone; and there was a sub in her place.

The last time my baby was measured, I was told that he has a very large head, but that his thighs are short.  Hmm.  A big head and short body.  “Poor little guy,” I thought, “I hope he evens out.”  I was telling this to the substitute technician when all of a sudden she burst out, “Oh my goodness, that’s a foot!  That’s the largest foot I’ve ever seen in a sonogram!”

Lying there on that table with her sliding the camera all over my bare jelly-covered belly, I pictured my poor little baby with large head, short thighs, and extremely large feet.  The picture was just so hilarious that I shrieked with laugher!  My whole belly shook and we laughed and laughed.  I do hope he evens out, but no matter how strange or funny looking, I will love him just the same.

Actually, my biggest curiosity right now is what color hair and eyes he has.  After three brown-haired, brown-eyed girls our Little Jason with blond hair and blue eyes was quite a shock.  Will he have company, or will he continue to stick out among our dark hair and brown eyes?

I’m linked with Finer Things Friday.

I remember that when my second daughter was born she looked like a little monkey to me. Oh, she was NOT cute and “perfect” like her older sister. She was just as cuddly and loving, though. It’s a funny thought, now, because they grow and change so much. I am actually pretty horrified that I ever thought she wasn’t cute. I’m sure your little guy will be perfect no matter what.

I love wondering like this. When my first daughter was born, our first reaction to her was, “Look at those feet!” She had these long skinny feet that were nearly as long as her legs! Luckily she has grown into them!

    Hoping for a complication-free arrival!

I can’t wait to “meet” him! When my now-two-year-old was overdue, I had to have a sonogram to check the fluid level. The technician said my baby had a super cute nose, and I remember thinking how neat it is that they can tell so much from sonograms! (And I get ads all the time on Facebook telling me I could return to school to become a sonogram technician.)

Oh that is too funny! I always wonder about the hair and eye colors too. We have a brunette, 4 blonds, and 2 red heads. Among them we have a mix of blue, green and brown eyes.

I think you should have a red head. You should really put in an order for one of those. They tend to add some spice to your life. ;0

Going to the sonogram appointments were always my favorite. We all know that this new baby of yours will be just as adorable as his siblings!!! I’m looking forward to seeing this new little guy.

I loved anticipating what my baby would look like. Even though you are uncomfortable, it is such a great ime.

It’s funny, but though you can see the family resemblance, none of my kids really look alike. We have about every skin color and shade of hair that exists(except for red hair; you’re right @large family, small world, that would be fun).

Now with the 2 foster girls, it is really a motley assortment. I get a kick out of it, though, when people ask me “Are these all yours? And they’re related??”

LOL, kind of makes you wonder. He will never the less be a gorgeous baby and not a little hobbit. May he be healthy, happy baby and help bring balance to all the girls:)
