St. Patrick’s Day (Irish) Tree 2011

St. Patrick's Day TreeOn March 1st we traditionally decorate our house with an Irish theme.  I don’t always do a tree, but Jason Jr. had so much fun with the Valentine tree that I couldn’t resist.  I want to keep hearing his, “Pretty lights, Mommy, pretty lights,” as he points to the tree wanting me to turn the lights on each morning.

I have accumulated several Irish t-shirts.   We start wearing them on the first day of March.  We do get strange looks sometimes.  Yesterday after taking little Jason to the doctor I took the kids to Krispy Kreme for donuts since I had free coupons.  While we were there a lady walked in and looking from one kid to another finally asked, “Is today St. Patrick’s Day?”

I love doing little things to make things festive.  It’s one of life’s Simple Pleasures!

We didn’t get any news at his doctor’s appointment except they want us to keep doing the breathing treatments and would like me to bring him in again next week.  Thank you for praying!

I LOVE your Irish tree idea! What fun! We still have a Christmas tree up (can you believe it?) ~ I should just turn it into an Irish tree!
Thanks for sharing your fun ideas. We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at our house too!
    Warmly,
    Cindy 🙂

You are my kind of MOM!! I used to love to do things like that and miss having kids around the house to give me the excuse to have fun. Somehow, it’s just as fun without them.

I think your kids are so cute, BTW. I love how your little boy is standing up so straight. I can picture you giving the “stand up straight now” mommy pep talk. So cute.

This was a wonderful simple pleasure. I don’t think I’ve been here before. I hope to bring more fun to the SP parties!

    Top-o-the mornin’ to ya!
And the rest of the day as well 🙂
Your kiddies look so cute in their Irish tee shirts.
It sounds like St Patrick’s Day will be fun in your house!
I pray your little boy recovers quickly from the respiratory issues.
Having 2 asthmatic sons, I know how awful these events can be 🙁
    many blessings..Trish
