Orange Poke Cake

Hello fall! This Orange Poke Cake is great any time of year, but I find it especially festive for fall.

I love to go crazy with a theme, and Orange Poke Cake was a great addition of my orange meal. It’s funny how simple the food can be, but just picking a theme makes it an instant party. We included this Orange Poke Cake as our dessert for the celebration. It’s oh so simple beginning with a cake mix!

What you need:

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • A 3 oz box orange jello
  • A 3.4 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix, thawed
  • An 8 oz container whipped topping

(Don’t forget the ingredients to make the cake, jello, and pudding according to package directions.)

Prepare a white cake mix according to package directions. When the cake is completely cool, use a fork to poke holes all around the cake.

Prepare the orange jello according to package directions. Pour immediately over the cake. Refrigerate for at least three hours.

Prepare the vanilla pudding according to package directions and then fold in the whipped topping. Frost the cake. Garnish with sprinkles or fruit slices if desired. Serve.

Bite into this! These simple steps turn an every day cake mix into something special. The orange jello gives it just a little tang, and then topped with the creamy pudding the result is sublime! This yummy Orange Poke Cake is a huge hit at our house!

I think that is what I had at your house last birthday party and it was delicious. It tasted like something that would be difficult and time consuming, and I was surprised to learn it was so simple.
