“Can we go swimming now? Is it time to go swimming?” After leaving the American Girl Store behind with the very proud owner of Caroline, I drove to The DoubleTree near the Galleria. I was thankful it was very east to drive to from the mall. I purchased the room through PriceLine.com for $45! We use PriceLine whenever possible! We loved the hotel and our room.
At Joy’s prodding we were at the pool in what has to be record time. It was a nice out door pool in the evening sun and shade. We practically had it to ourselves. Joy practiced her swimming strokes she learned and we played tag and every game we could think of until a bee chased me out of the pool. It must have thought I was a flower and you can only move so fast in water! Joy found some friends then and I thought I’d never get her out of the pool!
Eventually I coaxed her out reminding her that DoubleTree’s awesome chocolate chip cookies awaited us! DoubleTree has to be one of my favorite hotels in part for that reason–a free chocolate chip cookie with your stay! 😉 We ate cookies, watched a movie, and talked late into the night.
Joy wakes up hungry. She always has. We walked down to the hotel restaurant. The buffet looked amazing with omelets made to order. Again I had to laugh that as I was very much enjoying the food she was long since full and ready to go!
We packed up our duffel bag and headed out.
Dollar Tree was one of her requests.
Next Joy wanted her hair cut. Here was one last photo before the hair was gone.
Joy wasn’t sure if it was short enough, but after last year’s hair cut, I was very happy with it.
And then Barbie crashed our weekend…
