I had seen through my social media circles that there was going to be a Barbie is Moving event in our area and that it was free and open to the public. Since it happened to be the weekend out Joy’s Mommy and Me overnight Date I thought I’d look into it. I’ve been to other advertised free children’s events from other companies and was disappointed, so I didn’t tell Joy about it until we got there. But I was impressed as I drove into the parking lot of a Dallas area Walmart and saw the semi trucks and and buildings set up. Joy was so excited when she saw it. “We’re going to go there? Yea!!!” Joy is all about girly pink stuff!
Joy had a lot of fun! When she first walked up to the line she was handed a Barbie bag with a DVD inside and was told it would hold the stuff she would collect.
We took photos as we were waiting in line to go inside the building. At the top of the stairs she rang a real door bell and was invited in.
Joy was invited to get ready for her very own Barbie runway appearance!
They played music and built it all up for her to walk out.
Next there was an activity to color an outfit for Barbie.
Then she was given a little Mega Blocks gift box to take home and could build a room for her Barbie.
Joy had a great time at the Barbie is Moving event. If your little girl is a Barbie fan, I would definitely recommend this event if there is one coming to a town near you!
And this concluded Joy’s first overnight Mommy and Me date. We had so much fun together. Joy said it was the best day of her life, and she can’t wait for her turn to come around again. And it truly was a joy for me to be able to focus my attention on just Joy. She is so much fun!

That looks like a neat idea. Sounds like you’ve had a wonderful outing with your daughter. 🙂 You will both cherish this time together for years to come. It’s such a wonderful idea.
I love this idea! I only have boys, but would love to copy the concept. Great job mom!
