Make Your Own Heart Shaped Pizza and other Valentine Activities

I have been doing a countdown to Valentine’s Day with one activity or treat each day since February first.

Here is the beginning.

February 6th I hid “hugs” in the kids’ rooms for them to find during their quiet time.

February 7th we played a review game with their Classical Conversation grammar facts with M&Ms for treats.

February 8th we had hot chocolate in our Valentine mugs.

February 9th we had a “Make your own pizza” supper.ย  The way we did it was extremely easy.ย  I just made a batch of pizza dough in my bread maker.ย  When it was done, I divided the dough into fourths and gave each child their own ball of dough on a sheet of tin foil and told them to pat it into a heart.

I used a jar of Ragu pizza sauce and let them each spread as much sauce on their dough as they wanted.

Make your own heart shaped pizzaThen they sprinkled it with cheese…

Twelve minutes in the oven at 450 degees and each one got to enjoy their very own heart shaped pizza!

Today we are linked with Virtual Valentine’s Day Party, Valentine Sharing Time, and Valentines Activities Link-Up.

That is so fun. My mom always made heart shaped pizza for us on Valentine’s Day. (and heart shaped Jell-o) This year I’m going to try it.

Where did you ever come up with these ideas? I remember at our house we did a count down to Christmas once by opening one small gift (trinkets) each day. I don’t know that we ever did anything at all for Valentine’s Day. Looks like fun!

I love the valentines pizza idea!!! I’m going to use it on Monday. I’ve been trying to think of something heart-ish, edible, and not sugar-cookie! Thanks for posting!
