I was thinking it had been a while since I chatted at ya. Things here have been busy! I sound like a broken record; I know. A homeschooling, blogging, wife and mama is always busy, but we’ve had added excitement of late.
My mother’s aunt passed away last week so my mom, sister Sara, and my niece Ashley came and stayed with us for a couple of days last weekend.
This weekend we are excited to have Jason’s dad staying with us. Thankfully, I’m not easily offended because Jason’s dad is just as honest as so many on my side of the family. While I was cooking supper tonight he wanted to know what was cooking. I told him so far it was just onions and garlic. “I’m allergic to garlic. It makes me sick,” he said, “at least smelling it cooking makes me sick.” Uh…bummer? 🙂
I really love to have company and it’s great to be feeling like myself again. Recovery after Bobby was the longest I remember. In fact, I felt pretty bad for the better part of eight months. So for the last two months or so it’s been great to be feeling good again aside from being more tired than I’m accustomed to, but I think that’s normal since I’m still nursing a baby and chasing four kiddos!
Because I’ve finally been feeling better, I’ve been enjoying cooking again. Have you noticed? We’re on a soup kick right now. I think because I’m so excited that this Texas weather has cooled off a little. You can expect to find some of our creations on the blog more frequently.
I’ve also been excited to receive more sponsored blogging opportunities. A year ago when I first told you about how I was making money blogging and how I had dreamed of taking my kids to Disney World, I thought of it as long range goal. Amazingly, I have now saved enough to purchase a cruise for the entire family and one day Disney World tickets that, Lord willing, we will be enjoying in a few weeks! Thank you so much for sharing the ups and downs of life with us for in doing so you have contributed to make this possible!
Well, I could go on and tell you about our homeschooling, but I think I’ll save that for another day. It’s getting late, and I am tired. Have I told you that I’m tired?
I’d love to hear how you are doing!
I’m linked with Women Living Well, Gratituesday and Works for Me Wednesday.

Oh wow Esther! That is amazing! 🙂 I’m so happy for you and impressed at your saving skills!
Thank you Melissa! It’s a dream come true for me!

Hi Esther, I’m Anne from Life on the Funny Farm, and I’m visiting from Gratituesday.
Wow, good for you for making enough money with blogging to take a Disney vacation! I’ve been blogging for awhile, but only just recently started trying to make money at it. You should write a post on it!
Anyway, it’s nice to “meet” you! Hope you can pop by my blog sometime to say hi…
” Things here have been busy! I sound like a broken record; I know. A homeschooling, blogging, wife and mama is always busy, but we’ve had added excitement of late.” I echo this!!!! And, when I have more time I want to come back to find out how you are making money blogging, b/c I could really sue turning my meager efforts into a more productive way of helping my family.
Hi Esther! I found you from We are That Family and just wanted to say hello. I am still fairly new to blogging. That is so amazing that you will be able to take a trip with your family to Disney with the money you have made blogging:) It sounds like your life is crazy busy, as is mine! I hope you have a great time on your trip!
