Home fried potatoes are one of my favorite things! I began making them when I was in junior high after I came home from school for a snack. They are so delicious! This is my basic recipe!
Ingredients for Home Fried Potatoes:
4 medium potatoes peeled and chopped
1/2 medium chopped onion
1-2 tablespoons bacon grease
salt and pepper to taste
paprika
Fry the onions with the oil until the onions begin to turn clear. Then fry the potatoes until they start to brown. Cover and cook on low for about 20 minutes stirring often until potatoes are soft. Season potatoes and fry uncovered a little longer until brown. (Cooking uncovered and medium ans stirring often gives you crispy home fries.) I like to sprinkle with paprika. It gives it a pretty color and just a little zing.
My favorite way to eat this yummy home fried potato recipe is with a mixture of ketchup and salsa–yum! I love it as a snack, but it’s a perfect side dish to any meat.

I also love to add meat and make it a maid dish fird the recipe here: Sausage and Potato Skillet

I just love potatoes made like this! They are yummy…especially at breakfast for a real treat time to time.
