I was to be co-hosting my first Twitter party the other day, and I was so excited about it. I have been wanting to do that for a while and finally had the opportunity. The time couldn’t have been better as it was scheduled during the kids’ quiet time when I usually do my blogging work.
Now, the kids usually do very well to stay in their rooms and work or play quietly, but I wanted to be focused on this day and especially didn’t want interruptions. So as an added incentive I told the kids I had ice cream bars if everyone did what they were supposed to.
They were all perfect little angels. Who knew? So when their quiet time was over, I went to their rooms and told them to clean up and that we needed to get our jobs done quickly.
“And then we’ll get ice cream?” asked Grace my six year old.
“Yes!”
“Yea! You’re the best mom ever!” Grace came and gave me a huge hug.
“Because I’m giving you ice cream?” I laughed.
Her older sister Faith was standing near and answered, “No, because you’re awesome all the time!”
And as Faith was giving me a hug, Grace responded, “…and because you’re giving us ice cream!”

Well, that too! Kids are so literal at that age. Cute!
Yep, I love kids’ quotes…
Handing out ice cream makes you a good mom.
