We have been Ranger fans ever since we moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. My husband is given tickets every so often through his job. It is so much fun to be able to take the family, and the seats he is given are incredible!
Of course we were thrilled that the Rangers were once again in the World Series. This was going to be our year. We could feel it! We waited for and watched each game with anticipation. It was so exciting! Then came the last game. Oh, it was such a bummer! We told ourselves that it was just a game, but we both went to bed that night disappointed.
In the middle of the night I was shocked awake. My husband had punched me right in the back! I was thankful my back was to him and not my pregnant belly. I woke him up with my complaining. “You hit me!” I accused.
“Sorry, I was dreaming.”
“About what?”
“Baseball.”
That struck me funny. Actually, I had been dreaming about baseball too! I don’t know if he hit a homerun, threw the bat, or what, but it sure did hurt.
“It’s a good thing you hit my back,” I told him.
“Yeah, you might have to sleep on the couch,” was his sleepy reply.
“Uh, you might get the dog house!” I retorted. We laughed and went back to sleep. Thankfully sleep came quickly once again. I’m happy to report that there have been no more incidents!
Psst! I am thrilled to be nominated for The Funniest Homeschool Blog. Follow this link to cast your vote! 🙂
I’m linked to Marriage Monday, Works for Me Wednesday, and Women Living Well.

So funny. You have such a gift of writing and telling these stories. your kids will be so thankful for them someday.
I’m glad he isn’t into parachuting. You know, the guy who shoved his wife out of bed in the middle of the night, and when she woke him up complaining, he said, “You wouldn’t jump, so I had to push you!”
It could be worse. Just imagine if he was into football.
Being a huge Cardinal’s fan, I have to say, it was an incredible series. The Rangers and
Cardinals were so well matched. The drama was intense; the suspense, almost unbearable;
the comebacks (on both sides), unreal. Never has a World Series been more exciting and
heartbreaking. I was overjoyed when the Redbirds pulled it out in the end. I was a bit
sad for the Rangers, who seem like such a great group of guys. Sorry you got punched
in your sleep!
too funny. maybe your child will grow up to be a baseball player since his life was already effected by baseball
My chuckle for the day 🙂
I don’t really care about sports, but the part with your husband punching you in the back was funny.
LOL! Too funny! Definitely good that your back was to him! 🙂
Haha, I like your retort! Way to think on your toes–or just-punched back! : )
You tell the funniest stories! Glad you were so nice about it I hate being woken up especially by punches!
I was browsing the home school blog awards site since voting begins today and I was dying to see who else was nominated.
I love your blog! As a home school mom with 5 boys I can always use a good laugh.
Blessings!
@ Bekki, I am so honored and excited to just be nominated!!
I would love to go to a real American baseball game!! Cute story 🙂
I couldn’t get into the World Series this year, since my beloved Red Sox weren’t in the running. But I am sorry your team lost!
That’s so funny! Thank goodness my husband doesn’t have much reason to dream about baseball…he’s a Cubs fan!
I voted for you!
lol… that’s so funny… (not that he hit you…but that he was dreaming about baseball)
