Although the general population around here probably doesn’t celebrate cinco de mayo, I thought it was really fun that we had Mexican food for our church potluck.
My family would not let me get by without making a Tres Leches cake (Left). It’s one of their favorites. The spoapilla cheesecake (right) was awesome. I need the recipe for that.
My family and friends in Mexico have helped keep me stocked with Mexican dresses for the girls,
And guayaberas for the boys.
The kids wear their clothes often, but I try to make sure they have them on for cinco de mayo!
They looked so cute that I meant to have a group photo of them and even talked about stopping and taking photos in the beautiful Texas wild flowers, but we were just too tired by the time we were on our way home. 🙁
At first the kids had been a little sad that cinco de mayo fell on a Sunday, but with a little celebration at home the day before and lots of yummy Mexican food at church they were all very happy and satisfied!
