Oh I felt like I didn’t do his birthday justice. There I said it. Yes, I told myself over and over that he’s one, and that he’ll never remember it, but I still felt bad that I didn’t make him a cake and get him a balloon and you know, just make it special for HIM. The cruise, well I wouldn’t say it was Bobby’s favorite thing in the world. I mean, he hung out with us and did just fine, but no I can’t say the cruise was for him at all. I think he missed just being able to crawl around the floor!
Since he was a little fussy our waiter (Am I supposed to call him something different? I can’t remember. Anyway…) brought him some ice cream. We thought we’d let him dig in. He liked it for about 30 seconds flat! Ha ha!
Would you believe my camera quit working properly right when everyone came to sing happy birthday to him? So this was the only shot I got. I figured out later that the memory card was full. 🙁 On board they do have things like birthday cakes that you can purchase, but with all the dessert imaginable already included in our price I could not pay for birthday cake that no one would want to eat simply for a photo.
If you ever go on a Carnival cruise I have four words for you: Warm Chocolate Melting Cake! It is to die for. I ordered it every evening. That is what they brought Bobby for his cake. Yum. I also asked for a double portion of ice cream to go with it every time. That cake might just be my absolute favorite thing about the cruise!
Well, I didn’t get a lot of great shot of Bobby’s birthday, but I did get a family photo. It’s the only one. In fact when the photographer came by I begged him to get a good shot. “We haven’t gotten a family picture on the whole cruise,” I whined! I was very happy with the photo. I’m not big on buying souvenirs but I did splurge on a few photos!
And that was our last night of our four day cruise. The next morning we got up bright and early, ate breakfast, and debarked the ship.

Awww…I can’t believe he’s one already. That year went SO fast. That is a really good family photo.
