We boarded the Alaska Railroad GoldStar Service Train on the last day of our vacation. I was beyond tired. Would it be everything everyone said it would be? Yes, and more! This was worth every penny and effort and then some. If you make it all the way to Alaska ride the train from Denali to Anchorage.
There was something beautiful every minute. No matter how tired I was, I could not sleep. I would miss too much. I kept thinking that eventually there would be a less scenic stretch where I could take a nap, but there never was one.
This is exactly what I saw. I have a strange relationship with photography. I’m not like some people that are after really neat, unique, and amazing photos. I like to capture exactly what I saw the way I saw it, so that I’ll remember just that. I didn’t even pull out my zoom lens. I didn’t spend lots of time editing, cropping, or changing these photos. The countryside was just that beautiful.
Sitting straight up overnight in the cramped space of an airplane is not the best way to spend the night I’ll tell ya that, but we were happy to get home and see our kids. It was a great trip away and the kids had a blast with their cousin Ashely who spoiled them rotten. Getting back into the school routine was harder than ever, but wow it’s almost Christmas now and maybe we’ll get a little break.
Thanks so much for going on this journey to Alaska with me. I hope you’ve enjoyed it and learned somethings along the way. Make those plans and get to Alaska. You won’t be sorry!
