One of my husband’s favorite foods is the BLT! So when I heard that Wright Bacon would be demoing their new Buffalo flavored bacon on BLTs at Sam’s Club, I had to check it out! I love everything spicy. I even tried jalapeno chocolate ice-cream! Ok so that was a little out there even for me, but buffalo bacon sounded awesome!
I was disappointed that due to construction work they moved Dallas Cowboy Jay Novacek to a different Sam’s Club at the last minute and unfortunately it was too late for me to make it to a different location, but I understood why they moved him. The bridge was out, and I had to take a detour. It took forever to get there!
I love samples at Sam’s anyway. It is so fun to try new foods! I watched the guy making BLTs for quite a while. He didn’t add any seasoning or mayonnaise and grilled Mrs. Baird’s Bread right on the griddle after frying the bacon. I’d never done it that way before. I was going to have to try that!
Yum! Wright Bacon and Mrs. Baird’s Bread are perfect food pairings! The Buffalo BLT was so good and contained just the right amount of spices. I was surprised that I didn’t miss the mayonnaise, but with grilling the bread after the bacon it was plenty flavorful!
I finished my shopping along with purchasing everything I needed to make BLTs for my husband Jason.
After the week of sickness we have had with the flu, I was so thankful to have such an easy to prepare meal that I knew would be special for my husband. It’s not easy dealing with a cranky wife and kids after a long day at work!
I loved the added flavor of grilling the bread! Normally, we just pop the bread in the toaster! We will definitely be making the BLTs like this again!
A Buffalo BLT is the perfect party food to enjoy that big game! Or in this case to enjoy watching your recovering kiddos play the Wii!
I held my breath as I asked my husband if he liked it. Since he loves BLTs I wondered if making them different and spicy would ruin it for him. He loved them and wants me to make them with Wright Bacon Buffalo flavored bacon again! I agree; they were delicious with that extra kick! You HAVE to try them!

Looks delicious. The BLT looks good (one of my favorites too), little Jason looks better than he did Sunday for sure, though still puny, and Jason looks great. I think you are a very good photographer. A professional food photographer once told me no one realizes what a challenge it is to make food look really appetizing. Grilling bread is not new to me since I grew up before everyone had a toaster and my mother regularly grilled bread in an iron skillet. I know everyone does grilled cheese that way, but other kinds of hot sandwiches or plain grilled toast are delicious. Also everyone didn’t know when I was a kid that bacon grease is supposed to be bad for you, and we took advantage of the flavor in the very last drop.
We like our food spicy too! I usually just toast my bread for BLT’s too….but grilling the bread sounds sooo much yummier that I’ll have to try that next time I make them….which probably won’t be until we have some fresh-picked, home-grown tomatoes to eat….in July or August : (
Hope you’ve all recovered from your bought with the influenza!!
I love when Sam’s Club has yummy demos! My little sister and I may or may not have gone there several times on Sunday, grabbed a soda from the concession area, and “ate lunch” on their samples…just for fun. 😉 My husband loves spicy so I know he is going to dig this buffalo bacon!
BLT’s are one of my favorites! But buffalo BLT? That is just making me drool. Thanks for sharing!
Yum! We love BLT’s!! I haven’t made them for a while..I better make it soon! Yum! 🙂
That sounds delicious! I have never heard of these brands here and our bacon in our stores are the usual smoked, hickory smoked, or maple. I would love buffalo bacon!!
I really dig the idea of skipping the mayo. We are not a family of mayo eaters but everyone loves bacon so I’m going to try this out. Thanks for the bread grilling tip!
