What? My DSL was disconnected?

Howdy ya’ll!  It’s about 7:oo in the evening on Monday and I have ditched my family.  Picture my husband all alone with five wild kiddos.  Feel sorry for him?  Me neither.  You see I am at the library–by myself.  I’m so glad libraries are supposed to be quiet.  I am sitting here in the corner with my laptop because of you.  Yes you, whoever you may be, who is reading this right now.  (Something sounds wrong with the grammar in that sentence.)  It is to you that I owe a thank you for this hour of quiet.  Oh how I appreciate you for coming back again and again and laughing with us.  Life really is so much more fun with people to laugh with.

This morning I turned on my computer like I have every morning.  But today it didn’t cooperate with me.  A big ugly sign popped up telling me that my DSL had been disconnected.  I spent over an hour on the phone asking questions and searching for answers.  There was absolutely no way to reactivate the service as the company has discontinued it.  They said they sent multiple letters and emails and that I had never responded.  Oops!  I hate going through junk mail.  Don’t you?  Who has the time for that?  There was one small detail I should have noticed though.  On my last bill we were only charged for phone service and not the internet.  My husband said, “Alright it must be free now,” and that was as much as we thought about it…until it was gone.  Ha ha!

So I am without internet, but the lady, having pity on me, said that she would send someone to my house to hook up the new service Tuesday otherwise I would have had to wait (horrors) a week!  But the blog must go on!  Even my husband encouraged me to go and get my blogging done!  So here I am at the library telling you about my day and enjoying this time alone.  Hopefully by the time some of you read this I’ll have things set up at home again.  Thank you once again for coming back to my little corner of the internet!

My tip of the day:  Make sure it’s junk mail before throwing it away.  😉

I’m linked with Works for Me Wednesday.

I’m confused. How do you discontinue DSL? And, what new service are they setting up?

Well, I’m glad you were patient and also were able to get in a little quiet time.

(And even though libraries are supposed to be quiet, ours often is QUITE LOUD. Annoying.)

Oh I hate when things like that happen!
But an hour alone at the library? That sounds nice about now…

Welcome back. When I moved to the United Kingdom, it took 3 weeks to get internet service. I was going through withdrawals. Glad you are up and running unless you needed your quiet time in the library.
