We are huge Chick-fil-A fans! This was a favorite place to eat out of ours before we had children and now even more so. We had a blast participating in Cow Appreciation Day yesterday. We have gone every year since we first heard of their promotion. I think it is so much fun to dress like a cow! No, really! To get to dress up silly AND actually eat for free. It’s a win win!
Now that the girls are older they have a lot of input in how we assemble our costumes, but we keep it simple. We printed the costume kit from the Chick-fil-A website and then…we keep what is reusable in a bag and save it for next year!
Every year we plan ahead and arrive at Chick-fil-A just a few minutes before 11:00 for lunch. It’s the perfect time. We have been either the first family or one of the first families each time. The workers make a big deal over the kids, take our photo, and we enjoy our meal–for free!
Then, I kid you not, within ten minutes of sitting down to eat, the entire place is packed and people are having a difficult time finding seats! We’ve timed it perfectly every time!
It is so fun to watch everyone come into the restaurant. I love to see how everyone else has dressed up from some just wearing a cap with ears to full cow costumes. It’s also great to watch the people come in who are not dressed up. “I missed the memo!” one lady called out. Another man said he didn’t have to dress up to look like a cow… Then there are always the “I would never lower myself to that” folks too. I just smile, knowing I’m having much more fun than they are! We love Cow Appreciation Day, and we love Chick-fil-A!
