It was about ten years ago and email was still relatively new to me. I checked my account several times a day to see if I had received anything new. I loved getting and reading forwarded stories and jokes and thought it was great fun passing them on.
One day I got this really cool “forward” that was a graphic. It was a picture of an arrow. When you ran your mouse over it, the arrow would expand. I had never seen an interactive email before and promptly forwarded it to everyone on my email list.
Several days later I got a phone call from one of my sisters. We chatted for a few minutes, but it seemed like she had something to tell me. Finally, she blurted out, “Esther, I can’t believe you sent us that email for Viagra!”
“What’s Viagra?” I asked
Peals of laughter was all I heard coming from her end of the phone for a full five minutes! When she finally got control of herself, she gave me a little education. My face turned bright red! You see we don’t watch TV much, and I had never even heard of Viagra. I was so embarrassed! To think that I sent this out to everyone I knew, including several friends that came to mind that were trying to conceive! Never again have I forwarded an email!

OH my! That is hilarious! In my family, I would be reminded of that at every family get together….hopefully your family is more kind! 😉
OMG, that is sooo funny! I hate that you haven’t forwarded email since then. The key is to only forward from reliable sources. Don’t let this “viagara” incident stop you from enjoying all the joys of email.
Too funny! My mom won’t open anything on her email — unless it’s from one of her kids (like me.)
When you think about it, though, not such a major blunder. Could have been alot worse! 🙂
So you’re the one who’s been spamming me with ads for that little blue pill? I was wondering. You seemed like such a nice wholesome young women. Of course you did admit to stealing candy from your children, so that should have tipped me off to grey areas in your character. Just kidding. Have a great Halloween!
Now that is funnyyyyyyyyyyyy..I get things like that in my spam folder but I delete it so it goes to show one never knows how a person can get in touch with you…
That is too funny and it makes me think of how little I knew about the computer 10 years ago.
oh wow, now that is a great story! You made me laugh out loud…I can feel your embarrassment through the internet waves, don’t beat yourself up so much, we’ve all done things like that, I’m sure!
Esther, That is sooooo Funny! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Thanks for the Laugh! I really Need it! I feel my own face turning beet Red for you! But don’t let that stop you from forwarding things that people you know send you and you feel someone would enjoy it!
I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately! Between being really busy with my furchild jake who had Bladder Cancer and just had his surgery on Wed. He just came home today. A lot of work involved. We didn’t think we were going to be able to have it done and then the Lord provided the money. And dealing with other stuff and working as much as I could to try and get the money that we had to pay. They made us pay it all today.
I started blogging again yesterday!

That’s pretty hard to believe! We even have herbal Viagra potions here in China. Isn’t that hilarious?
Oh no way! That is just too stinkin’ hilarious!
I don’t think I would ever be able to live that down!
Thanks for sharing 🙂

To be fair Esther I don’t think you were responsible I think someone hacked into your email account… My mom had the same thing happen to her… I thought it odd at the time when my mom started sending emails about ??? enlarger etc…
Oh that is a total CRACK UP!!! Love it Esther!! You are too funny!
Oh, that would make ME stop forwarding e-mails for sure! Too funny!
