Spring is my favorite time of the year to road trip Texas! By now I’m sure you’ve already guessed why…BLUEBONNETS! I love all the wildflowers and trees blooming, but the bluebonnets are my favorite.

I gaze out the window ooing and ahing, and all the kids get involved in helping us spot them, so we get the most of the view as we drive by.

As we travel we are always looking for a good place to be able to stop for photos. Smaller, less busy highways are always easier to pull off and grab some quick shots like we did on this occasion. You will see lots of gorgeous bluebonnets along Texas interstates too though.

Or you can plan ahead and Google the area to find out a great place off the main roads to drive to. With a little time in your schedule it’s not that hard to find fields and fields of bluebonnets to photograph and enjoy. Just don’t pick them–against the law in Texas! 🙂
My bluebonnet photos that I’ve taken throughout the years as some of my all time favorites! If you’re not from Texas, consider your bluebonnet photos the best souvenir to take home with you.
Happy Spring, y’all, and I do hope you’ll come visit us in Texas soon!
