St. Patrick’s Day Rice Krispie Shamrock Treats

Happy St. Patrick’s Day or Happy “Irish” Day as the kids like to refer to it!  We will be busily celebrating today!

I love telling the kids the story of St. Patrick and how he was telling people about God.  As he was explaining the Trinity, he saw a three leaf clover and used it to help explain that God is three persons in One. Veggie Tales has a clip on St. Patrick’s Day that we like to watch.  You can find it on YouTube.

Here is a fun and easy treat we made.  I followed this recipe.  It was a hit although most of us agreed that we preferred them without the candy coating, but it was a fun alternative.  Oh and how about those clashing shades of green?  Ha ha!

I’m linking with Making My Home Sing Mondays.

They don’t clash. They accent each other 🙂 Hope you enjoy your day. I was telling my husband this morning (who surprisingly dressed in a green shirt. I’m still a little shocked) about all of the fun things you do for the day.

That’s sweet. I didn’t know or remember that about the shamrock. Hope you have a great day – we’re going to the parade because the weather is supposed to be warm today. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Paddy’s Day sugar overload! 🙂 They do look really great — even with the clashing going on.

I have never really known where St. Patrick’s Day came from, but I love green and I love Irish music! I’ll have to check out the Veggie Tales video with the boys! Thanks!

These look good! Wish I’d seen them last week 😉 I have a new shamrock cookie cutter I got this year and these seem like the perfect use for it.
