This was our St. Patrick’s Day breakfast last year. I made homemade bread the night before. In the morning I toasted slices, cut them out with a cookie cutter and then spread Nutella on them. Have you noticed a pattern here? 🙂 The leftover pieces of bread make great bread pudding!
They each decorated their own toast with St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles. There was much speculation about the green milk, but all decided it just tasted like milk–imagine!
They were so cute all groggy! I also placed little Irish themed trinkets beside their plates that they could use or wear throughout the day. When your last name is “Irish” you HAVE to do St. Patrick’s Day up big don’t ya think?

haha….they do look groggy in that pic.
I have been looking for a shamrock cookie cutter and haven’t found one yet. Maybe this year will be my lucky year. 🙂 I love the idea of the toast!
I would agree. My mom colored our milk green when we were kids. I don’t like milk anyway, so I wouldn’t touch it.
My best friend’s mom colored her blonde hair green (my best friend’s blonde hair)and I was so jealous. My mom said since I’m a brunette it wouldn’t look quite right on me. I thought she was just nuts when I was a kid, but I guess now I know she might have known a little something or two.
@Mari- isn’t it funny how being a mom helps you realize moms do know a thing or two…
Now if only I didn’t have to wait until my kids grow up to realize that on their own!
That is so creative. I am sending this to a friend who absolutely adores St. Patty’s Day!
I’m sure your kids loved eating those cookies.
The toast is super cute! Everything is better with sprinkles!
