This is a sponsored post written by me on belhalf of Schlitterbahn. All opinions are my own.
Last week I had the awesome opportunity to visit Schlitterbahn Galveston with my family! Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I have always wanted to go to Schlitterbahn!
Bring the whole family! As much as I love waterparks the truth of the matter is that we don’t often go. You see unless my husband goes with me, how can I possibly keep track of five kids of varying age ranges. Normally, he will set out with the older group while I hang out with the little ones, and then we will switch. Then we don’t see each other for hours at a time.
Schlitterbahn thought of families like ours! Every area of the park has both big slides and tot slides nearby. So instead of hanging out in “the little kid area” all day with the boys, I was able to travel to the different slides with all of them. I could watch the little ones on the play areas while not missing the older ones excitement as they came down the big slides. Oh my word. I love Schlitterbahn!
And since we were all in the same area of the park at the same time, it was so easy to switch off and get my own fill of the slides. Yea!
We spent a great deal of our day in the “Lazy” river as this was a huge hit for everyone. Where we entered the river it was really, really, lazy, the current was so slow. Then pretty soon we came to the Torrent River with big, fun waves that would occasionally break on us. We had a blast. The river is 3 feet so even my six year old felt comfortable.
Arrive early. We got to Schlitterbahn when it opened. In fact, we were so excited, we grabbed all of our stuff and started excitedly walking…the wrong way. A nice man finally stopped us and asked if we were looking for the Schlitterbahn entrance. “It’s that way,” he pointed, “Where all the people are headed.” Sure enough everyone else was headed to the entrance while we were on our way to the employee parking lot. Ha! But we still made it in right at opening and loved having our choice of the picnic tables, changing rooms, and no lines on the slides!
Don’t forget the sunscreen! While there are, to my pleasant surprise, many shaded areas in the park there is still lots of sun to be had. Remember this Texas sun is HOT and don’t forget to reapply sunscreen often. We did really well and only ended up with a few missed patches here and there.
We enjoyed a fun, full day at Schlitterbahn. We were tired and slept well, but got up the next day and enjoyed another full day of activity. Can’t wait to go back!

What is J. Jr. holding? I counted and it took me a minute to realize where you got the extra kid. Great picture of all of them together!
lol Nothing he just can’t keep his hands still long enough for a photo. Yes, we brought a cousin with us. Such a fun day!
Awww, what cuties. I just love family fun days. It’s as close as my kids get to no fighting and pleasant attitudes. For a day or two we look like the perfect family. And then they start making up for it on the drive home. Sigh.
Funny you should say that. Our drive home from this trip was probably the worst ever. lol
