I love finding unique places to eat. While we were at South Padre Island we went the Pelican Station Restaurant at Port Isabel. I had never been there before and thought it was a lot of fun.
The kids were asking me to take their pictures. I couldn’t resist!
The restaurant is at the exact site that the Rio Grande Rail Road ran in the late 1800s.
The Rio Grand Rail Road was one of the first rail roads in the United States.
Our sunburned and very tired crew enjoyed waterfront dining.
The prices were reasonable and the food was good. I’m not sure why I’d never been there before. This is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone going to the Island.

The restaurant is in the original train station. I love antiques, and even such things as the floors and woodwork are fascinating to me. The kids were exhausted after a morning swimming but behaved very well. A wonderful memory and I’m so glad for the pictures!
It looks like a fun place to go.
Looks like your family enjoyed a wonderful trip together, Esther!
Wow that looks like a lot of fun!
Beware of pelicans:). Once I was holding up an Oreo to my mouth to EAT it and a horrible pelican came and grabbed it from me.
