Here is a snack that I loved to eat when I was little in Mexico. I always get strange looks when I eat this snack, but it is oh so good. I used apples today, but it is good on any fruit. At home I just cut up an apple and dip it in Trechas liquid chile. The chile is getting easier to find in the USA.For a snack to take on the go, I just put the apple slices in a ziplock baggie (I stole this idea from my sister.) and pour enough of the chile into the bag to coat the apples. This also keeps the apples from turning brown. Yum! It’s always fun to see people’s faces when I pull out my chile covered apples too!
If you can’t find the Trechas liquid chile, this is a close second. Just cut up the apples. Squeeze the juice of one key lime (It has to be key lime.) and sprinkle with Cayenne pepper and salt. Enjoy!

I would never have thought that cayenne pepper would go so well with apples. But, I love spicy things, so I’ll have to give this a try.
ok I am actually gonna try this!
I think my husband would love that — he is crazy for anything spicy.
Hmmm, I’m probably not brave enough to try it, but cheers!
We love that stuff. We put it on our popcorn.
This explains a lot!!! Enjoy… I’ll stick to apples with cinnamon. 🙂
