I have a confession…

I was wr…  I was wro…  Okay, okay, I was WRONG!  When Bobby was born I saw his dark hair and coloring.  He looked just like my girls did when they were born except his eyes looked really dark gray.  My husband said he thought they were blue.  I didn’t even consider the possibility.  He looked just like my girls with brown hair and brown eyes.  So when I announced his birth, that was my report.  People however continued to say his eyes looked blue, and my answer was, “Oh they look a little blue, but I’m sure they’ll turn brown.”  Those first few weeks he hardly opened his eyes anyway.  Now that he is alert more of the day and smiling though…it is quite obvious.  He has blue eyes!  They are very dark blue.  I would call them midnight blue.  They may still turn brown, but right now we have a brown haired blue eyed baby.  Maybe Little Jason won’t feel so alone after all with his blond hair and blue eyes!

I had blue eyes when I was born, and they turned green. You never know what color they’ll be…

Cute! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baby with midnight blue eyes. Pretty cool.

All of mine had blue/gray eyes when they were born, and I only have one blue-eyed child. The others have army green, dark brown, or tawny colored eyes.

He’s so cute!!! 🙂 We couldn’t really tell what color my 2 year old’s eyes were for the longest time. Blue? Hazel? Brown? They’ve finally settled into a nice medium brown, just a touch of hazel. I have dark brown eyes and both my parents have hazel eyes. My husband and his parents all have blue eyes, so we’ll see what subsequent kids end up with!

What a pretty color! My daughters’ hair and eyes colors changed a couple times in the first year. Maybe you were right after all and they just changed a little since then! 😉

my boy had eyes like that when he was born.. they lightened to medium blue after a few months. although, the dominant choice was blue, since my husband’s are green… it will be interesting to see what happens to Bobby’s as he grows. and growing he IS, by the way… CUTER every day! 🙂

Baby’s eye color can change quite a bit that first yr of life. My guess…..they will end up a dark hazel or brown 🙂 ….and I agree — he is cute no matter what color they are!

His eye color looks just like my daughter’s eye did when they were babies! They have very blue eyes now.

Esther…… Esther…. You need some good lighting in your house…

It is these silly fluorescents. You can’t see anything with them.

One of my children had the most beautiful violet eyes, they didn’t stay that color. Your blog is a joy to read and the pictures are beautiful. Thank you

Sometimes it is hard to tell what color a babies eyes will end up being. My eyes were a different color until I was a few months old and then they went to brown.

I think he looks shockingly like your other little guy. You never know, though…just when you think they favor someone, they up and change anyway.

Eyes are funny things. They change so much in the beginning. My 3 brown eyed girls I thought would be blue. I have one blue eyed girl and the rest are brown eyed… I swore she would end up brown, but her dark blue is now an amazing bright blue like her Dad’s. Sheesh. Even their eyes have a mind of their own! 🙂
