High School Play Blooper

I had the privilege of attending a small Christian Boarding high school.  One of the perks of going to a small school was the opportunity to be involved.  I have always loved drama.  My favorite play that we did was The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  I got to be Susan.

We had our gym lined with chairs, and our teacher had done a marvelous job with the set.  We sold tickets in town and had a nice turn out.  The night of the play, however, it began pouring rain right when it was time to start.  All the actors did their very best to project their voice.  We really felt like we were yelling, but even though the rain on the tin roof made it hard to hear, I think we were doing a pretty good job.

Our one blooper of the night happened right at the climax of the play.   We were just about used to yelling when the rain died down.  In very dramatic fashion, the witch stood on center stage waving, and calling, “Bring in the witches, bring in the warlocks, bring in the fags . . . (gasp) . . . the hags, the hags!”

Oh No Esther! LOL! That is too funny!

They say laughter is the best medicine! I will argue on that one though, Prayer is the first!

I have pictures of me and a couple of others dressed up like beavers or bears or something. I don’t remember the performance like you do. Thanks for the fun memories!
