And just like that we have an adult daughter, at least that’s what the state says her age means. Fortunately she is also responsible, sweet, and hardworking, so I’m happy to call her an adult! 😉
We celebrated Faith’s 18th birthday with flowers from her father–tradition! Instead of a birthday cake she asked for Haagen-Dazs ice cream, our family favorite.

Traditionally the kids have chosen a fast food lunch, and then I make one of their favorite meals for a family supper celebration, but Faith wanted to break from tradition this year.
When it comes to food, Faith takes after me. She’s my foodie! We devoured a family pack of gorditas at Dona Totas. The cactus–nopales en salsa verde–are my favorite, but the kids go the simple route preferring the beans and cheese gorditas.

Then for her evening meal, Faith wanted to go to the Olive Garden. We don’t dine out at restaurants with menus as often anymore now that five of us eat adult portions. You can imagine! So it was indeed a splurge for all of us!

At the Olive Garden, the dessert on your birthday is worth the embarrassment of everyone looking at you while the servers sing to you!
Eighteen years ago when Faith was born, I wondered how I would do my little miracle justice. I had no idea what I was doing! As my first born, she had to live through all of my parenting trials and errors. God, by his grace, and in spite of all my weaknesses, molded her into this wonderful adult who stands before me.
Faith’s siblings say she is the nicest person in the world, and they all look up to her. I am blessed to call her friend!
Happy Birthday, Faith. I’m so glad God blessed this family with you!

You oldest and mine aren’t too far apart, just six months until mine turns 18. Where did the time go? The tell you when you have babies that it will fly by but you never believe it until it happens to you.
Happy birthday Faith! May you too mighty things and make you mark!
Yes! That’s exactly how it is. When with the young start believing the old? lol
