Funny Kids Quotes #9

The girls were asking me how old I am…again!  Why is that one of their favorite subjects?  Faith actually had me a year older than I am–lovely!

The next thing I heard was Faith saying, “Mom, I wish the baby didn’t die.”  Sometimes I forget that they went through a loss too.

I’m not sure how my age led to the change in topics.  Maybe I’ve mentioned that I’m probably too old to have very many more.  The mood changed when she mentioned the baby and we all echoed our, “Me toos.”

Then Grace, age four, piped up, “But I’m glad we got new curtains!   Just kidding!”

Curtains?  What new curtains?  She comes up with some of the most off-the-wall things, but she knows she’s being funny.  She’s trying to be funny . . . and she is!   We were all able to laugh then, and, oh, how we did!  That’s my girl, always trying to lighten the mood.

Today we’re linked to Finer Things Friday, and  Weekend Bloggy Reading.

Sounds just like Evan… And kids really are able to lighten moods. Thanks again… Have an excellent weekend with not too much Wii-playing!

The way your kids can make you laugh when you don’t think you have it in you at that moment is one of the million reasons they are so loved, I think.

So sweet, my oldest is really in tune like that too. Adison told her entire class that I was 40 years old, her teacher came out to tell me and everyone thought that was hysterical! I hope that you have a great weekend!

Normally I just laugh and move on without commenting on these, but today I thought to myself, you know…the thing I will probably miss the most about my girls when they are out of the house is their silly sayings and goofy conversations.

You have a true funny one….to throw out something like curtains at the right time to take the edge off of a difficult moment is talent. Sorry to read about your lose. It’s good to write about it.

We lost a little one, too, last June. And my kids felt that loss, more than I realized. They were really looking forward to a new baby brother or sister. They still bring up that baby from time to time. It makes me feel good when they do.

Your kids seem to have a wonderful sense of humor. What a blessing!

Oh, what a bitter-sweet moment. But it’s great that you can laugh through the tears… bless her little heart. 🙂

Your daughter will be well served with her sense of humor as she grows up. I have always been told that my humor is a great coping skill!
