When I was teaching at a small Christian school in Nebraska, the principal called a rally of the entire school in the gym to promote the new fund raiser. That year we would be selling a variety of delicious nuts and chocolates to raise money for our school. Our principal was very enthusiastic and in full pep rally mode. He told us why it was important to raise the money, gave great tips on how to sell them, and explained the mouth watering details of the goods. As his final charge to all of us he innocently yelled, “All right everyone! Stand up and grab your nuts!” Out of that whole gym full of teachers and students, it had to be me that was the first one to burst out laughing. Then everyone roared!

Hehehe! Oh man, I think I would of done the same thing. I tell Brian about your stories and it makes us both laugh and smile. Can’t wait to read more!
Thank you Heidi for reading and laughing! 🙂
My first visit to your blog. You are a mold breaker. Jesus has often used such. 🙂
Thank you for much – for the visit and the compliment! 🙂
I would have been the first one to laugh too! I didn’t grow up with four younger brothers for nothing! Thanks for posting on your blog every day, or at least having it post automatically. I know it’s a lot of work to keep up, but it’s always so fun to read. 🙂
It has been my pleasure Carly! Thank you so much for coming back!
Wow, I love your blog! I only happened upon it today through facebook when I noticed you had written a story from that “small Christian school in Nebraska” (where I happened to attend from preschool through senior year).
I went back and have been reading through a lot of your posts – great job! A good writer isn’t worth much without great content, and boy do you have plenty of interesting stories to use! Keep them coming!
Kari, Thank you so much! I’m so glad you happened on it. Please come back! 😉
Too funny! I wonder if I was there when that happened. Oh to think about that principal saying that…yep, I can picture it. Hilarious!
Beth, I think it was the year after you guys left. It was also the last year of that particular fund raiser! lol
Funny stuff! 🙂
Bwahahahaha! Esther, I love your stories!
Okay, so my mom read this to me a couple weeks ago and I have to say, we both had a good laugh!! But then, the other day, I was on the phone with Jason, and sent him the link to this story. I waited for no more and thirty seconds before he burst out laughing! After that, he laughed for another solid five minutes. And when I explained to him what my mother had explained to me, how even at the time of this story, my dear Aunt Esther would not have discretely giggled but guffawed for the world to hear, he laughed harder!! 🙂
