Homemade pizza, taco salad, Pringles, and Root beer
The meal proved to be problematic. I only knew of one store that carried the salad she wanted. I had to make a special trip to that store to get it. The pizza, well, I just found myself grumbling at using the stove to bake pizza when it was 106 degrees outside. That’s just wrong.
The chips were also a problem. She just had to have Extreme Pickle flavor. Now I love pickles, but as a chip flavor it didn’t sound even remotely good. I tried to talk her out of them. She is at the stage where she thinks she knows better than I do and feels like I am just stifling her. So since it was for her birthday, I gave in. She put up a good front at first saying she liked them, but as each of the rest of us made faces and said we didn’t like them she realized she was either going to have to fess up or eat the whole can of chips by herself. Finally she admitted she didn’t like them. Pickle flavored chips anyone?
I’m going to have to learn to make cheesecake if they keep requesting it!
She seemed thrilled with her gifts.
I hope she had a wonderful day. She is so, so special to us!

What, no sopa!? Pierce is requesting it all the time now – thank goodness it’s cheap and easy to make (and the twins love it too).
Hopefully she appreciates all the trouble you went through for her. I’ve never tried pickled Pringles 😉
When did she get her hair cut? I loved it long, but I can see how it would be much easier for her to handle. I’m glad you are not that permissive (giving in to every menu item whim) all the time, but proud of you that you can be flexible for special occasions!
I love Faith’s haircut! What a sweet mama to put all of that together for your special girl’s birthday party. My oldest LOVES cheesecake too, yum-o! Such a special day!
I am so jealous of the Cheesecake Factory cheesecake (wrong, I know, but I can’t help it). We ate there when visiting my sister in Atlanta, GA. We don’t have a Cheesecake Factory when we live :o( I’m sure you can make cheesecake, but probably not ‘Cheesecake Factory’ cheesecake…just sayin’….lol.
Faith, you are beautiful and I hope you had a marvelous birthday!
My sister and nephew eat those chips, I personally don’t even like the smell of them 🙂 Well you never know until you try right?
She is so cute! 10! nice age….love the Cheese cake
mail me the pickle chips… i love them. heehee. happy birthday to your sweet little girl! 🙂
We love the pickle chips! That’s the only flavor my 7 year old will eat. :o) Hope she had a wonderful birthday!
What a sweet birthday girl! We just celebrated our son’s 10th birthday, complete with pizza, root beer and roller skating! Children are such a blessing…wishing your family a year of blessings with a 10 year old!
I love that last picture, she looks so excited to see her gift!
I well remember trying to persuade my kids on something and then letting them learn that they made a wrong choice. It is funny when it involves food, and you watch their face and you KNOW they hate it, lol! It especially hurt when money was involved, but we DID draw the line on some things that they wanted to buy. However, we let our son spend $19.99 on a bionicle movie (or whatever it was called). Sure enough, he watched it once, said it was “dumb” and wished he’d never wasted his money. Thanks for linking up to Making Your Home Sing Monday!
