Oh how I love my bread machine. It was the one thing I REALLY wanted for a wedding present…and I didn’t receive one, but my sister did give me one for Christmas soon after. I used it until it died, and then my in-laws gave me another one. The bread machine just makes having homemade bread so easy.
This Dinner Roll recipe is what I make for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners whenever we celebrate at home. Many years I also make them for our New Year’s Day family fondue party. We love dipping bread in cheese fondue. They also are perfect for left over ham sandwiches.
Ingredients:
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 egg
3 1/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons yeast
Add all the ingredients to the bread machine in the list order. Choose the dough cycle.
When the cycle is completed, remove the dough from the bread machine pan with lightly floured hands and let it rest on a floured surface for 10 minutes.
Divided evenly the recipe makes 15 rolls. I decided to make some small and large. You can shape the rolls into balls and then place them on the greased cookie sheet and the rolls will come out rounder and prettier. I prefer to just drop them onto the cookie sheet. It’s faster and they still taste great! Cover with a cloth and let rise for about an hour or until the dough has doubled. Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
Enjoy! These rolls are so easy to make and just a little sweet. We love them! Happy New Year!

Definitely trying these! I’m just starting to learn the art of bread machine recipes. 🙂
These look so good…and relatively easy too. Perfect for a weeknight dinner any day of the week! Thanks for sharing!
I have a question…could I use cake flour instead of bread flour?
Erin if you don’t have bread flour I would just use all purpose flour. I think cake flour would make them heavy instead of light.
