Our family got to go to a screening of the Dolphin Tale movie. I had never seen a movie before it was released in theaters! The kids were ecstatic to again be able to see a movie in a real theater, but I think I was more excited than they were! It was such an exciting experience. All people were scanned for cameras and recording devices, and bags were checked. It all felt very top secret. We loved the movie! It was entertaining, funny and inspiring! I loved that Winter, the dolphin, played herself. The whole time I was thinking, “This really happened to her!”I first heard about it through Sally Clarkson at the homeschool conference we attended this summer. I was super excited to hear that her son Nathan Clarkson was working to show Hollywood that there is a demand for family movies with solid morals and values. The experience wasn’t without a little Irish family excitement. Toward the end of the movie my two-year-old began to get somewhat restless. I fished in my purse looking for something to give him and was thrilled to find a sucker. He licked and chewed on it happily, but when he finished it, he instantly chucked it forward through the theater, hitting someone in the back of the head! I’m still not used to boys and their fascination for throwing things!

How exciting! This looks like a movie worth going to see in the theater. I like to support the rare family-friendly movies that come out.
Very cool. I never tire of going to previews! I just wish it happened a bit more often… Hilarious end to the story.
if it had been my son with that sucker, he would have stuck it to someones hair and then tried to eat on it again… a little sucker upside the back of the head never hurt anyone. besides, it was dark, so its not like they could pinpoint you! haha!! we are excited about that movie, as well. maybe we will get to take the kids to see it…
That sounds like fun. Yeah, you gotta watch those lollipop sticks with a hawk’s eye or you’ll never know what happened…
That’s so neat! I’ve only taken my kids to the theatre a few times, since it’s so expensive these days. I’ve seen previews for this movie though, and it looks so good! My oldest daughter has always loved dolphins, so maybe I could plan a special mother/daughter date.
I am so glad you got to go to a screening! Thanks for blogging about the movie and spreading the word! It really is a special movie 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it and am impressed your two year old got through it!
My kids are dying to go see this movie when it’s released! By the way I love Sally Clarkson. We used alot of her homeschool stuff.
I am super excited to see both “Dolphin Tale” and “Courageous”!! It is awesome that your family got to preview a movie before it was released = )
