This is my favorite snack! Unless you’re from Mexico you probably think I’m strange. Well, if you’ve read my blog you already know I am, but that’s beside the point.
In Mexico street vendors sell homemade chips in little bags with chile and lime on them. My Texas version isn’t quite the same, but boy it’s still good.
I pour the chips onto a regular size dinner plate, sprinkle with Cayenne pepper, squeeze about four key limes over that and then sprinkle them with salt–yum! No, not the healthiest snack on the planet, but oh so good to indulge in once in a while!

I don’t know what brand they are, but I think this treat is better if you can get the chips that are a little thicker and more like home made. They don’t get soggy with the lime juice as fast, though I don’t greatly object to soggy when something tastes that good.
These look great, Esther. Hope you are doing well. 🙂
I love home made chips! I do them with onion salt and my kids eat them up!
That sounds pretty yummy, way better than the pickle flavored ones!
Ah, Mexico snacks! I spent a little time in Mexico myself and I have some goooooood stories… 🙂
I love foods with kick, and my newest favorite chips are the dill pickle from Lay’s, AND the jalapeno/lime Doritos. Probably not as good as your homemade, but I am ADDICTED!
