One of my fondest memories of great family time on our Indiana road trip was a night we spent in Jeffersonville, Indiana at the TownePlace Suites near the Big Four Bridge. Our family stay was part of a familiarization tour with GoSoIn. All opinions are my own.
The Big Four Bridge is the perfect family hike spot. Spanning the Ohio River and connecting Jeffersonville, Indiana to Louisville, Kentucky the Big Four Bridge opened for pedestrians and bicyclists in 2014. I highly recommend the hike at sunset. The views are fantastic!
TownePlace Suites by Marriott Louisville North is it’s brand designation even though it’s right across the water from Louisville on the Indiana side.
After a long day of traveling and touring around Indiana we loved relaxing with the family in our spacious TownePlace suite.
Spending only one night we didn’t make use of the full kitchen, but wow there was everything we could have needed!
Complimentary WiFi and daily breakfast buffet were some of our favorite amenities, but there is also a fitness center and indoor saltwater swimming pool to enjoy.
TownePlace Suites is centrally located near great area attractions including Louisville Slugger Field, KFC YUM Center, Falls of the Ohio State Park, and Museum Row, but my favorite part of it’s location is it’s proximity to The Big Four Station and Big Four Bridge.
The Big Four Station is right across the street, just a stone’s throw away from TownePlace Suites. The park features lots of green space, fountains, a pavilion, and a playground.
All five of the kids enjoyed playing at the park. We all have wonderful memories of just hanging out here before and after our hikes over the bridge.
The path to the Big Four Bridge is inside Big Four Station.
All five of my kids are pictured, only one is hiding. 🙂 This place is so romantic! Have I mentioned you must plan your hike at sunset? 🙂 Though if you’re an early riser, I’m sure a morning hike or bike ride would be be beautiful too.
In our part of the country we don’t have many bridges. This was a treat for sure!
When you’re in the area plan to stay at TownePlace Suites and explore the Big Four Bridge!
