I try to have at least one big meal in the dining room a month. I want the kids to love our family meals so I often get them involved and plan dinners that I know they’ll enjoy. The animal theme was their idea. They decorated the table themselves, helped me choose the menu, and helped make all the food.
I bought the little masks at the Target $1 section and they have played and played with them. I just went on Thursday and picked up some more.
Fishy fruit dip with a fruit platter. The dip recipe I used was so-so, but I loved the fish shape. It’s just a kiwi, apple slices, one mandarin orange slice and a chocolate chip.
They loved cutting out and decorating the animal cookies.
Caterpillar pizza was so fun to make and eat! Just make little round pizzas with your dough and place them in a caterpillar shape. I used cut out round slices of cheese instead of shredded cheese on top–so fun!
We also had Dinosaur chicken nuggets and Cheetos in our Mooing cow bowl! The kiddos are begging to do this again!

I’m really wanting to know how you made the pizza!
You need to be nominated for Mother of the Year for this dinner themed party…I love it! So creative! By the way… I left you an award on my blog today! ๐ ~Kimberly

I’m a little late on this blog, but wanted to leave a quick comment. It’s great you use your dining room at least once a month. Ours gets used mostly when we have a catered party, but not often for family meals. We really should use it more. Anyway, I love your animal themed party… including the caterpillar pizza and animal cookies. That’s very creative and fun! Have a lovely weekend, Esther.
