If you’ve never been to Niagara Falls, then it’s probably on your must travel list or should be! Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. Plan ahead and enjoy so much more that Niagara Falls USA has to offer! See these 6 Fun Things to do with Kids at Niagara Falls USA:

My stay in Niagara Falls was part of a familiarization trip with Niagara Falls USA. All opinions are my own.
Niagara Falls
It’s no secret that the falls themselves are the big draw, and they alone are worth the trip! I’m probably guilty of overusing the word awesome, but standing at Niagara Falls and gazing at the power and beauty…well, it’s awesome! Whether you have just a couple of hours or days to spend, you have to experience Niagara Falls. Click over to my post 3 Fantastic Ways to Experience Niagara Falls USA!

Fort Niagara
Old Fort Niagara was a vital post during the colonial wars in North America as it controlled access to the Great lakes and the westward route to the center of the continent until 1825 when the Erie Canal was finished. It remained an active military post into the 20th century!

Today Old Fort Niagara is a unique opportunity to step back in time to an era when the French and British struggled for control of North America.
I loved the original 18th century buildings and incredible views! Kids will delight in the exciting living history programs. I especially enjoyed a demonstration on how the cannons were fired. When they say to cover your ears, they mean it!! The cannon fire is loud!
Inside the buildings you will see how Native American, French, British and American soldiers lived and worked. As you walk the beautiful grounds, make sure to catch the musket and artillery firing demonstrations.

The Fort Niagara Lighthouse is also at Fort Niagara! It was built in 1872. The lighthouse is open for free self guided tours in season.

The 360 views from the lighthouse are fabulous, and it’s such a fun, nostalgic experience! If possible, make the climb to the top. For more information and history on the lighthouse click here: Old Fort Niagara Historic Lighthouse.

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours
I like to say I enjoy SOFT adventure. There was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity for a Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour. The truth is…I was shaking like a leaf in a storm, I was so scared.

I took a seat at the very back since I was told that was the least scary spot. That’s me on the right. I sat down and hung on for dear life.

And you know what? It was so much fun!!! The views were gorgeous from the river!

You may have already noticed all of the provided gear we were wearing in the photos. It’s to keep you warm, because you will get soaked!

While it was an incredibly wet ride and loads and loads of fun, in the end it really wasn’t very scary. Going into it, I worried about being thrown out or the boat tipping. The ride was very stable, and I never felt like I was in danger, but I did have a blast. I highly recommend this experience!

Aquarium of Niagara
The Aquarium of Niagara is a non-profit public aquarium, though at its beginning in 1965 it was privately owned and founded by a group of chemists and scientists. True to it’s beginnings, both education and marine rescue are still a huge part of what Aquarium of Niagara does. You will, of course, also encounter a plethora of beautiful and amazing sea creatures.

Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls
Get your shopping fix! There’s a shopper in every family. Joy, one of my teenagers, is my shopping girl. A trip isn’t complete for her unless she got a little shopping in. Whether you need something or just love to shop, the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA is a great place to browse or grab a bite to eat.

Niagara Power Vista
I don’t always travel with the kids, but even when I don’t, I’m always thinking about them. I wondered how a power plant could be exciting for them. Wow was I wrong!

There is so much interactive learning fun at Niagara Power Vista! Don’t just learn about electricity, experience it! Enjoy a simulated ride in the 4D theater and live what goes into making electricity from the moment you flip a switch. Learning about power has never been this fun.

This was my second trip to Niagara Falls USA. I don’t think one ever forgets the majestic power and beauty of the falls, but I absolutely loved exploring more of the city and finding so many exciting things to enjoy with the family. Among these 6 Fun Things to do with Kids at Niagara Falls USA, I hope you found some new adventures to add to your bucket list! See Niagara Falls USA for more inspiration.
