Our children were playing in the yard yesterday as I was finishing cooking supper and Jason got home. Since it was quiet in the house Jason and I took advantage to catch up on all the exciting things of the day. It almost felt…strange to have been able to tell each other everything without any interruptions. Jason and I looked at each other as if to say, “Oh no!”
“It rained all day yesterday. They are probably all full of mud!” I dreaded having to change everyone before supper.
Jason went outside to find the kids all happily digging in the soft dirt. This did not surprise me. The fact that they weren’t all covered in mud did! “What are you guys doing?” Jason asked.
“We’re planting Gospel tracts!” they exclaimed.
“You’re doing…what?”
“We’re planting Gospel tracts! That way when we move some one else will live here, and they will probably dig in the dirt like we do and they’ll find the Gospel tracts and get saved!”
Never in all of my imaginings would I have come up with that! I laughed and laughed and laughed. I think that they took sowing a seed a mite too literally!
After explaining the fallacy of their plan, they all understood the humor and agreed that this story definitely should be shared! I told you how my husband had motivated our kids to share the Gospel, but I bet Ray Comfort has never had this done with his tracts! Ha ha. I am glad the kids are thinking about sharing the Gospel though!

How precious!!!! I love that you and your husband have instilled that love of sharing the gospel with them! That is wonderful!
That is an awesome idea!!
Perhaps your family could put together a little “capsule” to bury in your yard which includes photos, gospel tracts, and a letter explaining who you are. Then perhaps a future owner of your property will discover it, read all about your family, and get saved = )
Great idea Deb, actually the first question my husband asked was, “Did you at least put them in a bag?” but no they hadn’t! 🙂
Laminate them and then plant them!! 🙂
I love it! This sounds like something my own kiddos would do, especially our seven-year-old evangelist. 🙂 And how rewarding for you as parents to know that your children understand the need to share the gospel! I’m visiting you from Titus 2sday linky party. 🙂
That is awesome! Planting a Bible tract tree. I can see the children’s book now 🙂
