You’ve seen this photo of our wedding before. It’s my favorite from our entire book of wedding photos and the one that I usually have hanging or propped some where visible.
Several years ago when we only had three children, Jason and I went to a company dinner and a couple from church came over and took care of our kids.
When we got home we chatted for a few minutes about how the kids had done. Then they casually asked, “So…how long have you guys been married?” We told them.
“Oh!” My friend laughed nervously. “Well while you were gone, Faith pointed to your wedding picture and said, ‘I was in Mommy’s belly in that picture,’ so I had to ask!”
I was shocked and had no idea where my daughter would have gotten such an idea. Faith, our oldest, was born just before our fourth anniversary just so ya know!

She just knew she wasn’t in the picture and made that assumption. You never know what they will say as you pointed out!
YIKES! Glad she asked instead of just assuming Faith was right.
You look beautiful in your picture! I had a few questions about BlogFrog and that post won’t let me leave a comment, so I thought I’d ask here if that’s okay…
– What if I want to grow my blog readership but not do giveaways or monetize my blog? I don’t want to test things, or do reviews… would it still be helpful?
– Is there a fee to join?
– I don’t get it. How exactly does it work? What do I do/What do they do?
Thanks so much for your thoughts!

LOL…rolling on floor! Kids say the darndest things….
Too funny! One of my first graders recently came up to me at school, pointing to her shirt with the American flag on it. She proudly announced “This shirt was made in China!” I love the things that kids say!
Too funny! Glad they checked. By the way, if that’s your own wedding picture, you are really beautiful, as are your kids (Obviously from the photos at the top and not seeing them hidden in your wedding picture like Faith ๐ )
Oh, funny! We just passed our ten year anniversary and pulled out the wedding dvd to show our little ones for the first time and my almost four year old son says, in his attempt to understand the timeframe, “I died. That’s why I wasn’t at your weddng.” So cute what they’ll say!
๐ When my cousin was little, she once pointed to a photo of herself as a baby with our grandmother and announced, “That was before we were married.” I think she just understood that that’s something people say about some pictures.
Ainsley, it might well be that your student’s shirt was made in China. Somebody gave me an American flag shirt that was, in fact, made in China. ๐
