What to see in Fort Worth for Free

While my husband’s parents were here we decided to take them to downtown historic Fort Worth to see the sights and get a little glimpse of our cowboy heritage.  My in-laws enjoyed the sights and my kids loved the activities that were all free!

The kids got to pet the horse while we waited for the Longhorn cattle drive.

Here they come!

Old Fashioned gunfight in the street.  My youngest two were pretty scared!

Posing on the saddle.

Feeding the goats at the little petting zoo.

Cowboy Camp Fire.  They sang old cowboy songs, explained how the drovers traveled and demonstrated roping.

It was a nice hot day, but we took water with us and the only thing we paid for was lunch.  They do this every Saturday morning.  It’s great fun for the whole family!

I’d like to do this sometime! Those people sitting behind the gunfighters in the middle of the street make it look less than authentic. What were they thinking!

Looks great fun – although those huge cows would make be a bit nervous – guess I wasn’t cut out to be a cowgirl!
