While my husband’s parents were here we decided to take them to downtown historic Fort Worth to see the sights and get a little glimpse of our cowboy heritage. My in-laws enjoyed the sights and my kids loved the activities that were all free!
The kids got to pet the horse while we waited for the Longhorn cattle drive.
Old Fashioned gunfight in the street. My youngest two were pretty scared!
Feeding the goats at the little petting zoo.
Cowboy Camp Fire. They sang old cowboy songs, explained how the drovers traveled and demonstrated roping.
It was a nice hot day, but we took water with us and the only thing we paid for was lunch. They do this every Saturday morning. It’s great fun for the whole family!

I’d like to do this sometime! Those people sitting behind the gunfighters in the middle of the street make it look less than authentic. What were they thinking!
That sounds like fun! How neat that they do it ever week.
Looks like an amazing, fun-filled day out!
This looks fun!
Oh that looks like a lot of fun!
I love Western movies and this sure looks like a lot of fun 🙂
Look at the horns on those longhorns! Too cool.
So, are you going back next Saturday? 🙂 Hey, free is free!
Looks great fun – although those huge cows would make be a bit nervous – guess I wasn’t cut out to be a cowgirl!
What great fun! I visit Ft. Worth several times as a child, and always loved the sites. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy iFellowship! ☺
How fun!!! My kiddos would have loved to have seen that. My youngest 2 love all things Cowboys. What fun memories. Thanks for sharing. Happy iFellowship.
I am here from iFellowship! Nice blog, I pan to check it out a bit more. Oh and yes, this post looks like fun was had by one and all!!!
