I booked a cruise for our family! It has been a life long dream of mine to go on a cruise! Our plan is to drive to Florida, spend one day at Disney World and go on our cruise. It is not for several months, but we have been planning and excitement is high!
In my reading about the ship, I found out that only potty trained children can enter the pools. My three-year-old is not potty trained. He is not interested. Whenever I broach the subject he tells me, “That’s for girls.” I haven’t actually attempted to potty train him. I’ve potty trained late with all my kids. It just seemed easier to wait until they were ready, but we’re going to have to move this little guy along.
I started telling him all about the cruise, and that it is going to be on a big ship, and that he wouldn’t be able to swim in the fun pool with a slide if he was still in diapers. I wondered if he had any idea what I was talking about, “Little Jason, do you know what a ship is?”
“Yeah,” he nodded his head with assurance. I was a little surprised.
“What is it?”
“Something with a pirate on!” came his reply.
On second thought maybe this wasn’t going to encourage him to potty train! Actually, I think this might be the motivation I’ve needed to get things rolling.
Have you cruised with children? Any pointers?

Can’t wait to hear how the cruise goes. Eddie and I are hoping to take one in about a year. I’m nervous about getting sea sick!
That sounds like a wonderful family vacation, Esther!!
I’d love to go on a cruise, but my husband easily gets sea sickness ~ he prefers to stay on dry land.
I’ll probably have to leave my hubby at home and go with my daughter and son-in-law sometime as they enjoy sailing on the Princess Cruiseline.
Can’t wait to hear all about your trip = )
I have a good friend who used to go on cruises often with four children. She says it was the best kind of vacation.
