Last weekend Jason forgot something at his office so we decided to take the morning and go into Dallas as a family. The kids were so excited to see where Daddy works. I was curious to see if my pictures were facing the wall-ha! The last time we were there was about two and a half years ago so the girls didn’t remember it at all.
I am petrified to drive there with all the traffic and one-way roads. When we moved here I told my husband that if he came down with a migraine at work, he was going to either have to ride it out at work or call a cab. Yes it’s happened, and yes that’s exactly what I said. I’m a horrible wife, but at least I know my limits!
The kids loved looking out of the high-rise window. “Mom the people look like little ants, and the cars look like toys. Do we look like that to God?” It is so fun to see something fresh from their eyes!

Streets get easier the more often you go 😉
I remember visiting my dad’s office when I was little. It was so special. I remember being very proud. 🙂 I used to be terrified driving in New York City, but I got a GPS and it helps me SO much! I would never drive in without it.
I remember doing that as a kid, I lvoed visiting my Dad’s office. Your kiddos are too cute! 🙂
I visited Canada a few years ago, and was completely useless driving in the city I found myself in – which led to much mocking from my friends. Some people have the ability, others don’t… The funniest was the GPS telling me to go the wrong way down a one-way road. THey’re incredibly helpful – most of the time…
So cute! Maybe we do??
What an awesome view Jason has every day! I remember going to visit my dad at work when I was little! So fun for the kids.
I didn’t realize he had to drive into Dallas to work. Fun family adventure 😀
Lol…What a cute comment! I didn’t realize you were in Dallas…how close are you to downtown? We’re in Texas too–It takes us about 25 minutes to get downtown in Houston.

What does your husband do for a living that he gets to wear shorts to work?
Enjoyed reading. Thank you!
Aww! They’ll always remember visiting Daddy. When my siblings and I were little, my dad would take one of us to work with him every so often. He was a self-employed lawyer, and his office was about 30 minutes from our house by bus. (Which we took!) We’d sit on the floor and play with toys, or write on the back of his used rolls of paper from the adding machine. When I get older, I learned to type and went to work for him! (He paid me the going rate… no free child labor.=)) Some of the BEST MEMORIES EVER!
I’m sure you thought to tell the kids the wonderful thing is that we don’t look that way to God even though He lives in heaven. He is close to each one of us!
I had to drive through downtown Dallas during the first two years I was a teacher. Not fun! If I left super early in the morning, I got to work in less than half an hour. If I waited until the time a normal person would leave, it took me TWO hours. This was over 10 years ago, and I can only imagine it’s become worse.
I don’t blame you. I HATE driving in Dallas. Every time we visit Dallas there is roadwork going on and it’s CRAZY! Glad y’all made it there in one piece!
I love how kids’ minds work! And I won’t drive into New York City, but I have a friend who does it often. So I’m with you. I’m sure I wouldn’t drive into Dallas!
