A couple of days ago I told you about how much we enjoyed the Celebrity Premium Non-Alcoholic Drink Package. One of our favorite drinks that we asked for over and over was the Mint Lemonade which someone later told us was a virgin Mojio. Since we have been home we have CRAVED the sparkling mint awesomeness! I had to make them. We’ve actually enjoyed them several times in the last couple of weeks. The kids think they are great too!
Here is what you need to make it: San Pellegrino sparkling water, Imperial Sugar, Key limes (Cuz key limes are always better than the others.) and mint leaves.
Squeeze the juice from 3-4 key limes per glass and add 4 teaspoons Imperial Sugar. My glasses hold about 14 ounces when completely filled.
Stir the lime and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. I almost couldn’t think of the word dissolved. I was thinking disintegrated, melted… Yes dissolve is the right word!
Add about four mint leaves to each glass. I like to add them whole and then mash them with the spoon. That way I don’t drink the little pieces, but if you like to chew on small pieces of mint as you drink, by all means chop it up and have at it! ๐
Add one cup sparkling water to each glass. Stir. Then add ice to fill the glass. On the cruise the cup would be completely full of ice usually and the ice would keep the mint leaves at the bottom of the glass.
Enjoy!!! Jason was grilling for supper on this night so I made the virgin mojitos outside while he grilled. I got him to stop and reminice our cruise evenings for just a minute. Yum! These are so good and so easy to throw together. The kids came out and complained so I did make each of them one too. ๐

Which one of the kids is the photographer? The drink sounds good, but that’s a lot of sugar.
Joy takes the pictures for me. It is a lot of sugar. You could use sweetener if you like that, of course I like SUGAR. ๐ Same with sweet tea or Coke. I like the real stuff.
Tried it and the whole family thought it was absolutely delicious. It was a real hit around here. We used a wooden pestle to grind the mint with the sugar so that we could really get that mint flavor infused into the drink. Also we used unrefined coconut sugar, which may or may not be an acquired taste, and we used 3 teaspoons of sugar instead of 4. After trying this one, we hope you’ll share more cruise ship drink recipes:)
@Marlena, Oh I’m so glad you liked it! I’ve never tried coconut sugar. Sounds interesting. I’ll have to look for it!
