I made these heart-shaped dinner rolls for our Valentine Dinner last year. I thought they were really cute and super easy by making the dough in the bread maker.
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp. olive oil
6 cups bread flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
4 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
6 cups bread flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
4 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Add all the ingredients to your bread-maker pan and select the dough cycle. When it is done, place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a cloth and let rise for about 30 minutes or until double. Punch down and let rise again. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make the shapes. Place the hearts on a greased baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes at 400 degrees.

Those are cute! Is your tree up :-)?
That’s a really good idea. I might have to try these.
So cute! I love holiday themed food!
so cute. I made heart shaped pretzels last valentine’s day
These are cute.
Those look yummy – and more importantly, they don’t take much time to make! I hope you are resting a bit Esther ๐
Esther, what an unselfish loving idea! Just so perfect to let our families know we care.
Super cute. But how did they taste? I’ve not made bread in a bread maker before. I hear it’s tough.
How cute! A great small gift to the family for Valentine’s Day dinner! ๐
@Fawn, we liked it! ๐ I make all of our bread in the bread-maker!
Thank you so much for coming to my session on the Homeschool Channel today! It means a lot to me that you were there.
These are adorable! @Fawn, we (ok, my husband) used to make bread all the time in our breadmaker. It was so easy & yummy. It also made the house smell soooo good!!! Hmmm, wonder why we stopped using it? Excuse me….”Honey, I have a questions for you.”
These are so cute, I want to try to make some.
These are cute and look delicious. Wonder if you could make them without a bread maker?
what a fun touch to dinner!
These are a sweet way to celebrate!
Ah, lovely! So glad you linked this to Food on Fridays, in anticipation of our Valentine’s Love Feast. Our family celebrates together, too. Instead of hiring a sitter and heading off as a couple, my husband and I decided to create a wonderful environment for celebrating Valentine’s Day all together. My theory was that someday, one of the three girls may have an event to go to, and the others would be left behind watching a movie by themselves, feeling sorry for themselves and unloved.
If, instead, we had a lovely feast together, then at least the consolation prize of not having a special outing would be the family event. ๐
