We are home!! You may have noticed…uh…that we’ve been gone for a while. Jason and I had the awesome opportunity to take a trip to Israel. I told you about how that came about in this post. We had about 6 weeks from the time we found out and purchased the trip to the day we boarded the plane. With all I had to get done in preparation, I did not get advanced posts prepared. So for the first time in five years my blog went silent for over a week. Didn’t notice? Shame on you! Ha ha! But I hope you were following via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter as I did try to send regular photo updates.
It was a very strange feeling as we left our kids at school and boarded a plane to Israel. I felt a bit uneasy. It had been such a whirlwind. I didn’t begin to relax until we were at the gate the 11 hour flight to Israel. We flew out on US Airways which is now part of American Airlines. I was surprised to find an extensive selection of complimentary videos on the seat in front of me. I had been sure the movies would have been an extra fee. With all the excitement Jason and I weren’t sleepy so we stayed up and watched a couple of movies. You would think we’d be happy to watch our own thing, but NO we had to sink our videos so we could still watch a movie together. Aw!!!
We did get some sleep on the plane, but didn’t try to sleep the whole time as with the 8 hour time difference we would be going to bed at what would have been early afternoon the time we were used to.
The eleven hour plane ride was over, and we couldn’t believe we were in Israel! Now to find our group. I was nervous as most of the others had come together. How would we find everyone?
Sure enough, we spotted a lady with a sign that had the name of the group and travel company right away when we walked off the plane. I went up to the lady and she told me to get our luggage and meet back. One of our suitcases was taking forever. We collected our things and walked back to the lady with the sign. As we got within ear shot I heard someone ask, “Is everyone here?” “Yep, everyone is here!” came the reply from someone with a list in hand. I picked up speed and went up to the man. “Hi! We’re in the group too!” He looked at his list again and replied that we weren’t on the list…

Can’t wait to hear about your amazing trip. The photos were beautiful. I think so many people have this dream to travel to Israel, but in reality most of us will never get there. Thanks for sharing your adventure. It brings us just a little bit closer to that dream.
Thank you for your sweet words! Israel truly was a dream trip. I wish all had the opportunity to go!
Oh yay, can’t wait to read all about this. Right now your blog is my best friend. We moved out to San Diego area for hubs new job and don’t know a soul. Missing my friends and family. Hope we find a nice church family as hubs new job will require some traveling.
Oh how I understand the loneliness of moving to a new place. I pray you do make some great friends fast!
Oh Esther, I’ve missed you!!
I was getting concerned about you (and your family) as you hadn’t posted anything on your blog in soooo long…and I don’t have Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter so I wasn’t able to follow your other posts.
I’m grateful to hear that you are back home safe from your trip to Israel, and I can’t wait to read all about your adventures = )
Deb! So great to hear from you again. We sure have lots going on in my extended family, but thankfully we are well. Thank you for getting concerned. It’s always great to know someone missed you. 😉
