You know you’ve been traveling too much when you get home from taking the kids out for pizza and your four year old says, “We’re home? Not at the hotel?” Ha ha! Poor little guy! Out of five weekends from the end of November through the end of December we traveled four of them. In the craziness of life around the holidays and travel we did take a bit of a blogging break. Whew! It was much needed. Today I’d like to wrap up sharing about our trip to San Antonio from a few weeks ago.
On our last day before the drive home I wanted to go do something in San Antonio we’d never done before. We decided on visiting the Tower of the Americas.
The area surrounding the tower is a beautiful park decorated with fountains and gardens. It’s worth a trip to just stroll around outside!
I think we’ve been watching too many movies. We all had visions of falling in the swirling waters. Joy was the first to pose for this one.
It was such a gorgeous day. I had fun getting a few photos of the girls. The boys were completely uncooperative for a photo shoot, but they had fun at the park too!
Some of the kids acted a little nervous going up the elevator that high, but once we were up there they all had a great time exploring. It is such a neat view!
Inside the tower is a great Texas history lesson of the Six Flags of Texas. At each section you can read the signs or push the button to hear the audio tour.
When we were finished exploring we took the elevator back down and then waited in line for the 4D Skies over Texas Ride. We absolutely loved the ride. Had we not been pressed for time we would have done it again.

Sounds like you made lots of fun family memories during your holiday travels!
We sure did! 🙂
Been following your blog for almost three years. I was pregnant with my first and looking online for mommy blogs. Love your spirit and your encouragement for moms. Can’t believe how fast the children are growing. I feel like you will be doing wedding posts for the girls before you know it. Seriously though, seeing how fast the kids grow really makes me take a deep breath and see the importance of cherishing the moment on those days when I feel like tearing my hair out.
Tanya! So great to hear from you! Thanks so much for traveling this journey with me. You’re right. The kids are growing up so fast. It’s really hard to believe. That must mean I’m getting old! lol Thank you for the encouragement!
