Time for a new headshot!

Me 2

It has been almost three years since I started Laugh With Us Blog!  In the beginning, I had this photo that my husband took in our dining room.

Profile

Later I also used this next photo that my husband took…uh…in our master bathroom against our closet door.  Ha ha!

A week or two before The Declare Conference I received an email to sign up to get a professional headshot done at the conference.  Well, I hadn’t had a professional photo taken of just me since…my wedding I think.  That sounded fun, and I figured I did need to update my photo.  I’m getting old you know!  So I followed the link, read FREE, and registered.  Well, it might have helped to have read the entire post because a few days before the conference I received an email that said “Bring your $20!” Oops!  Oh well, $20 didn’t sound too bad, and I was already signed up so I scrounged up the cash (literally $20 in ones!) and waited my turn for the photos.

Out of the many shots the photographer took I received four.  Out of the four I liked two.

Me Head shotThis one I liked me in it, but I found the cropping to be a little strange.  Maybe I’m just not up with what is cool in photography, but my eyes are drawn to the wall, and it seems like too much wall to me.  I guess it would be perfect if I wanted to add text.  But I liked the photo of me so I cropped the wall out and am now using this photo for my headshot.

Me head shot 2I liked this one too, but think I look…more my age in this one!  🙂

So there they are.  Did you notice I cut my hair?  When the beautician was working on my hair she asked me, “You don’t take care of your hair at all do you?”  I thought for sure I must not have heard right so I asked her again.  Sure enough, “You don’t take care of your hair AT ALL do you?”  Hilarious!  “Uh…I wash it!” was all I could think of to respond!  Maybe that was why she took off six inches instead of the four I requested.  I don’t know, but I like the cut anyway!

I like it (your hair), too. and that was pretty nervy of her. What does she want you to do? Spend $300/mo in products? Jeesh! I love the pictures, but I agree there’s a little too much wall in that one. However, you are beautiful. Wall or no wall 🙂

Nice picture and a good reminder that I should update my own!

That first one is bizarrely cropped, as you say. But I do prefer the second one, anyway – a much happier, more relaxed look (in my opinion).

Your haircut looks fabulous….and you look as gorgeous as ever!

I think your husband should become a photographer ~ I like his photos better = )

I think all of your previous photos were lovely. The two new ones are nice as well. I agree that the second one is cropped oddly.

I can’t believe your stylist said that! My stylist, whom I visit only once or twice a year, would never say something like that! My goodness I have five children, have no family nearby to help out and I homeschool. Doing much more than washing my hair is not even on my radar. The nerve of some people! I think your hair looks lovely either way.

I love the new headshot, but I also love the first two. Um, the hairdresser lady needs to back off. (all I do is wash mine, too, but I also cut my own…) 🙂
